We were moving into a new 2 bedroom flat with our 5 month old son, the council wanted us in there now now now but had no flooring down except the kitchen and bathroom. The floor was sharp and had old bits of glue from previous floors. We spoke with Lee who couldn't have helped more. The gained access to the flat and he was there immediately to check our measurements and brought samples for us to look at. We had a tight budget but he talked us through our options providing different price points. The next day the fitted Craig was at the flat laying the vinyl. Took less then 8 hours to have flooring down in our flat ready for our son to make a mess. Could not fault at all, was helpful was quick was a real pleasure doing business with would highly recommend. Will definitely use again if we suddenly decide we want carpet down perhaps when the little one is older lol.
Fitted carpet throught our flat, they were really helpful considering it was our first time to have carpet fitted and extremely patient whilst we made our colour decision. Very friendly staff and carpet fitters, excellent customer service.
Recommended to friends and family.
Whole property re-carpeted - 01.12.20
After deciding to use Classic Floors (CF) over our more local Carpet & Flooring company (who coincidentally were cheaper for the same products) and spending £3,500 to re-carpet and lay hard flooring throughout our property, we have been left with a very bitter after taste!!
Once the job was complete, the last element was to fit large coir matting by our front door but unaware to us the measurements were incorrect meaning that the job couldn't be completed. Sadly, we didn't receive any communication from CF as to when the mating would be fitted. On 3x separate occasions over the space of 5x days we made phone calls to obtain an update but only after putting pressure on CF, did we manage to get the matting fitted before Christmas (16.12.20)
After the fitters laid the carpets they didn't highlight to us that....... as the carpet was so thick, our existing threshold metal strips weren't wide enough for the carpet to be tucked away (they are 18mm when they need to be 28mm) As soon as we hoovered each room the carpet came out and we were mortified. As we are not familiar with the Carpet and Flooring industry (like most home owners wouldn't be) we had assumed that some common sense would avail and they offered to install wider threshold strips. Had that been explained at the time I would have requested this and accepted the additional charge.
We got in touch with CF on 10.12.20 by telephone and email requesting for them to send a quote to replace our threshold Strips (as our carpet is now lose and untidy on each doorway) but we only received the quote (which was incorrect and didn't match the quantity of strips we needed) the day before (14.12.20) by email and asking to get in touch to approve the work ASAP. Surely if CF were relying on us to pick up that email at such short notice they should have simply picked up the phone which would have been so much more quicker and convenient for all parties.
Given that we have spent £3,500 with CF and having put up with such inconvenience for the delayed matting fitting and carpets now lose on each doorway (taking 3x days holiday from work) they asked us to pay £150 for materials and a £50 labour charge to replace the threshold strips?? We were quite simply baffled by this!!
Had CF acknowledged and responded to my email (dated 15.12.20) outlining my frustration rather than ignoring it, we would have expected them to offer some form of goodwill gesture to compensate for their error in failing to highlighting our carpet fitting issues. Even if we had received a phone call with an apology and some additional discount, we would have most likely taken them upon this however, as they have been so stubborn and not taken responsibility for their errors, it has forced me to write this 1x Star review.
We feel short changed but above all, dissapointed with this family run business who choose money over service and their reputation. Bitterly dissapointed is an understatement.
24.12.20 - Further to the statement above, our carpets now come loose on all doorways after hoovering with a cordless hoover!! Rather than offering solutions, they argue that there are no issues. They were great up until we paid them upfront in full!!
Say no more.........
Very pleased with our new hall floor. Thank you to Classic Carpets who were very helpful and patient! Ian the fitter was efficient and has done a great job. Would definitely recommend. Thanks to all.
