My family have used Floors for Thought on five occasions since we moved to London four years ago, and have always had a great experience - most recently fitting a carpet in my son’s new loft bedroom! The people at the shop, Chris in particular, are all friendly, helpful and knowledgable - and in my experience, both the carpets and wood floors are high quality whilst remaining very good value. The fitters have done a super job every time. Personally - I would highly recommend.
Terrible experience with this shop, do not recommend. The initial carpet arrived damaged, so could not be fitted. However it was the follow up and communication that was the real problem. I heard nothing for over a week, and then got told that all their fitters were busy so I would have to wait. It took 5 weeks from the initial date this fitting was meant to happen to it being completed. When it was fitted, a huge bubble under the carpet was left at the entry to the doorway (see picture) and then I was chased for payment. Despite waiting for 5 weeks I haven’t received an apology for any of the hassle - the faulty carpet or the incorrect fitting. On purchase of the carpet I was promised a fitting within 2 days, and that the fitter would bring both finishes of brass footplate so I could choose when it was fitted. The fitter just turned up with polished brass and fitted it, and despite me asking to see the other brass finish this did not happen. Final point is that this carpet smelt so awful, I left the window opened in the room for about a month and in the end had to put neutradol on the carpet as people would notice the smell coming into the house. I’ve had new carpets before but they have never smelt this bad, it was horrendous. The carpet does now look nice in the room but the hassle it has caused is unbelievable, so I really suggest going elsewhere!!
I'm a long standing customer of Floors for Thought and cannot recommend them more highly. In the shop, Chris is so helpful and patient in picking out colours that complement decor, style and the period of the house. The range is huge. Chris advised on all of the carpets in my house and I've always been thrilled with the results. The fitters are also great, it's been the same guys for all three visits over five years in this house - they've fitted it top to bottom, and the stairwells twice! They're always really jolly and clean up beautifully at the end. Booking and invoicing super efficient, as well. Thank you for this weeks superb service and oustanding work, as always.
Highly recommend consulting Chris at Floors for Thought if you need any colour combinations for paint, carpets, or flooring. He went above and beyond for us when we were choosing a new carpet, and we were extremely happy with the result. It is a lovely shop with plenty of options and samples. Go and support a brilliant local business!
Great company with lovely customer service. They really seem to take huge pride in getting it perfect for you. Lots of helpful advice and the fitter was a nice guy too.
