I recently had new carpets installed on my stairs, landing, and two bedrooms by Modern Flooring, and I cannot recommend them enough. Dean and his crew were exceptional—polite, well-mannered, and incredibly hardworking.
They went above and beyond by carefully moving and replacing all my heavy furniture and beds, which made the process stress-free. When they encountered a minor hurdle with shaving a door, they didn't cut corners; they made sure they had the correct equipment to do the job properly and to a high standard.
There was a slight delay in the carpet arrival, but the communication was excellent throughout. The shop kept me informed every step of the way, and the fitters were incredibly efficient, preparing the underlay and grippers so they could finish the job promptly once the materials arrived. As a gesture of goodwill regarding the delivery delay, they even applied a nice discount to the final balance.
It is rare to find such a professional, clean, and customer-focused team. I am a very satisfied customer and will definitely use them again. Five stars!
Charlie went above and beyond to make sure I was completely happy with everything. I can't thank him enough for the fantastic job he and his fitters did installing our carpet and LVT flooring. Any concerns I had were dealt with quickly and professionally, and Charlie was always happy to put things right. His fitters were all friendly, hardworking, and did an excellent job. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them – 10/10!
We had our flooring done by the Alfie and the team and were really happy with the results. The installation was careful and tidy throughout. When we later renovated our kitchen, we discovered exposed floorboards where the old kitchen had been (not ideal), but the team came back promptly to sort it out. They also repaired some damage to the new flooring caused by another contractor's work, which we really appreciated.
Great customer service by Charlie, Billy and commitment to getting things right.
We had the whole of downstairs replaced with a lovely oak laminate flooring, flowing through all rooms. The guys that were here worked so hard to ensure they gave us the best possible finish, they were all very polite and helpful and nothing was a problem. We are over the moon with the results! I feel i have to write this review to give an accurate description of our experience. We used modern flooring to fit wooden flooring throughout our house and on our stairs. Due to the removal of old built in furniture we had odd bits of skirting missing and we asked if these could be replaced with new matching skirting or at least as close as possible. The flooring was meant to take one week. This turned into 3 weeks during which time we were on holiday but luckily had someone that could be at the house my mum. Needless to say when my mum sent me pictures of how they had decided to dig into our new plaster to fit skirting I wasn't impressed as there was no need to do so(see picture attached). My mum tried to say this to Billy who said apparently "it wasn't his job and he didnt care" and was quite rude to my mum. Billy, then face timed us and i knew what had already happened as my mum had told me. Again i pointed out the skirting was wonky and why had he dug into the wall....He clearly did not like been pulled up on his poor workmanship as when the owner came over had i pointed this out he had clearly fed his boss. A lie that his boss believed yet the evidence was there. The boss came over as there were numerous issues and short cuts such as no mitering the skirting together, holes left in the stairs etc.
The best bit is after returning and after they had been to rectify some of the botched jobs they had clearly damaged the paint on my stairs hallway they had used the wrong paint ( try and use not the wood paint next time its glossy and sticks out only noticed this some time later so no point raising it or the damage you cause to my keyboard by just deciding to go ahead and work in a room without putting dust sheets down. Which is a common theme as they also did not clean up after themselves (despite doing so the weeke we were therre) and also stole a cloth from my bathroom never to be returned. I will give credit to the person who laid the stairs as he my mum said he worked hard (apolgoies forgot your name)
Needless to say they are lucky its not less stars.
